Thank you for this link and for the couple of embedded videos. I had heard about this town sitting on a burning coal mine before, but the current state was new to me. Strange places, indeed.

As for cat island - I have been to an hospital in a small city, the hospital is on an old tethere are a lot of house cats gone half wild that live there, and get fed by neighbours and hospital patients and personnel
