Arealous' Official Game Review for Resistance 2

Resistance 2 :2 cents:

Does it compare to the popular PS3 exclusive Resistance?

Gameplay: Campaign is pretty much the same old, with new monsters and fancy new guns. Great if you already enjoyed the first, but if not, you won't be very impressed. Boss battles are uber fun!

Multiplayer: This is where the game is much different: All the guns have significant recoil now, if you were good at Resistance 1 multiplayer, your skill will carry over, but expect a learning curve from how the way the Carbine and Bullseye now feel. Huge 60 man maps make for fun chaos. Ranked games are highly active.

Thumbs up to how they improved multiplayer to me.

Graphics: At first, it seems like they dumbed down the graphics for those 60 man games, and multiplayer definitely doesn't look as polished. Yet certain areas in the campaign look better than before. It's hard to say as it seems to be dynamic, but overall the art style still fits and looks great.

Story: The story remains interesting to it's novel idea of an alternate history in which World War 2 gets interrupted by Aliens. You see the difference a few years makes as humans progress in technology and the aliens find ways to infest stuff with casual ease.

Final Thoughts:

The campaign is fun, but ultimately not new, but why change it if it wasn't broken in the first place?

Multiplayer feels familiar, yet in many ways plays more like counterstrike than before. Recoil on crosshairs adds to a more skilled approach.

2 Thumbs up from me, but if you didn't like the first don't bother!
