Are we living in the stone age internet?

First the internet is a dangerous place lots of sites have spyware ,adware ,virus and worms

Second most x-rated sites are portals , file sharing or bogus sites.

And last other than soft or hardcore porn it very much uncommon to find web sites , message boards or groups dedicated to fetish .

The dark side of the internet is bandwidth problem ,cost to run a site and malware problem.

What is your thought on this? Do you think in 10 or 15 years from now the internet will change get better or worse?

I hate all those blogs and social network sites now  Bring back the 90's chat rooms and message boards.

I hate how I cannot find stuff on the internet and all the malware.

I think it's more like the old west.

Some might complain now, but I have a feeling a lot of people will think the way the Internet will be in the future will be worse than in the present in many ways.

Back then people actually learned useful things too by having their own little sites, like HTML programming and graphic design. The only thing people learn on facebook and twitter is how to spell like they´re retarded (and of course how to turn into narcissistic idiots who think that every tiny detail in their boring lives is of interest to the rest of the world).

The UK is behind a few countries I think when it comes to the net. What speeds we get is what other countries have had for ages. And yet it's just new to us. And we're paying the prices for this old tech like what those countries are paying for the new tech. It's bull so it is. A handful of places in the UK can take 50mb speeds most can't handle that. Most places take like 8mb speed as the norm. It's almost as bad as sliding a 50 pence piece into the side of your laptop or PC tower and then using a crank to wind it up so we get power for a couple of hours before repeating the process. This is the UK setup.

May be this is big reason there is little individualism web sites or groups. Do to the cost and bandwidth problem.

tor and vpn for browsing......get out from the 'normal' internets

No the frustration is in the 90's we had use-nets ,groups and message boards now that is gone and we have portals , file sharing and social network sites .

That is why it is impossible to find fetish groups ,web sites or message boards now.

That may be nice but it was a fad every young youth had to have a web site and now it is myspace ,facebook and twitter .

When I first got Compuserve twenty some years ago, I thought I'd found Heaven. And when the actual internet was finally available to us mere mortals, I was really happy. But now... meh. :dunno: I fully agree with you. When there was more of a wild west feel to it and not every swinging dick had a computer, it was a lot more fun.

I also agree with you about MyFace and SpaceBook. I hate them both. It tickles the shit out of me that just a year or so ago, we had people (in Congress, even) encouraging people NOT to fill out census forms. But those very same hayseeds will put up every frickin' detail of their lives on a social network for the world to see. Even dumbass Michele Bachmann has one (and she was the main one who was against the census). But when you point that out, how do the rubes respond? "Uh, yeah, but see... my FaceBook account is set to private." Yeah, sure it is, Slugger. I got a bridge up in New York I'll sell ya cheap too. Mark Suckerberg knows how many pubic hairs you have on your crotch. Don't think that he doesn't count them while you're asleep. And then he sells that info to the highest bidder. What, you think he lets you have a "free" page on his site cause he's a nice guy and he likes you?! :rofl2:

I am paying £18 a month for 8mb broadband from BT. And I am paying for 8mb BB but am only getting around 6 and a half mb BB speed. What sort of speeds and prices do you guys get and pay for them where you live.

I am waiting for virtual porno ! so i can fuck Busty Brittany for 'real' !

nice thread OP , yes, it seems one step forward, two steps back sometimes !

That not the issure the issure is cost to run a site.

There is probably 2 reason why lack of fetish sites .

1. cost to run the site and bandwidth problem
2. where do you get videos or pictures you cannot copy and paste that is not legal.

The 90's chat rooms and message boards was mostly talk not pictures ( some did ) do to 500 MB of pictures was alot back than in the 90's.

I think the frustration is in the 90's we had use-nets ,groups and message boards and was much easyer to find my fetish groups:brick: now it is impossible  cannot even find one fetish group, web site or message board.

I hate the portals , file sharing and social network sites that not dedicated web sites ,groups and message boards for fetish one has.

The internet is suppose to have web site, group message board for every topic , interest or thing. That was the marketing hype of the 90's .

So if I was rich I could start my own fetish web site and go to hollywood and get porn stars ( that is where most are and most porn is made ) to pose on my fetish site but no I'm not rich.

Sadly, I think in the future governments will start getting a better handle on controlling and regulating the Internet. It might have a wild wast feel to it now, and it has flaws because of that, but once it finally starts to become more regulated and manipulated I think people will look fondly at the point we are at now.
