Archiving threads?

while i haven't been active on the boards in a while, i'm a 10-year member and part of why i don't use the boards much anymore is the clutter, for lack of a better term. some of the threads are 100 pages long, which makes them hard to navigate and find the information i'm looking for. as with other forums i'm a member of (which is in the dozens), is it possible to take some of the older threads and archive them, or portions of them, so that the board is more up-to-date? in archiving, the old threads would still be accessible in an archive section and could be linked to the relevant, recent thread(s). while i realize this would be more than a little bit of work (i'd probably be able to help if asked), i think it would make what has been a great forum for years, even better.

Thanks for the suggestion, we appreciate it. And thanks for sticking with us over the years ;) Happy 10 years!

What I normally do is use the Search Thread tool (light blue bar) while in a certain thread to find something that is in a massive thread, without going through all the other stuff. Of course, this helps when you're looking for a specific thing in a big thread and not so much clearing it away from your vision, but a helpful tool I use for certain situations.
