I play on occasion with no expectation....Although in '97 I came up 2 numbers short of winning $32m....the kicker? They were 2 numbers I was going to play. Oh well, wasn't meant to be....
When I turned 18 I played religiously for 10 + years until I got sick & lost my income... I played all the big games in my state every week 2 times a week. you know the multi million dollar games.. I won a couple hundred dollars about 5 or 6 times but nothing big yet...
I like HM missed by 2 #'s one # came up as 23 & I had 24 & the other # was 37 & I had 38.. thats one of the times I won a couple of hundred of dollars... 2 #'s difference and I would have won MILLIONS.. sheesh.. I was kind of bummed... I always think about that when I go play.. I almost won. so maybe I will 1 of these days.. :dunno::2 cents::hatsoff:
In 2006 I hit the lotto and picked up a check for 214 million. It was freaking awesome. I bought some very nice gear and a nice house. I receive 10.7 million a year for the next 20 years. Technically 18 years now.
No I do not, but what I do love to do is stand in line behind what seems like six thousand "old dears" and wait for them to finish buying their lotto tickets. It's so fun, really it is. It's so fun that thought start running through your mind that would never have been there before. The sort of things that might end up in you being put in the back of a station wagon being held down by two strapping young lads in white uniforms. Or, you know, a long term prison sentence. But at least that way I could look forward to the sodomy and not have to fear a lobotomy. But still I bet mental hospitals have better bathroom facilities and nicer drugs.
I hate having to stand behind these people. Spending upwards of £50 on lotto tickets!?! And spending 15 minutes to do it whilst chit-chatting to their other lotto players who are also in line so the whole pointless charade repeats itself again and again and again and again and again . . . :bawling:
Yes the wealthy know they are very poor investments.Lotterys in most cases were passed instead of tax increases, states needed revenue and lotterys provide that.Thats really what they are, taxes people pay that are not clearly seen as taxes.I'm not against them or for doing away with them as that would just lead to the old illicit numbers game returning.People want to and are going to gamble so its better to have it legal IMO.But as you say a lot of people waste money they could use for lots of others things on lotterys and gambling.
So no I never have bought a lottery ticket, guess I "can't win it since I ain't in it".I will keep my "dollar and my dream".They have catchy slogans for sure.Good marketing helps seperate people and their money.
