I just graduated from college, with a degree in English. I'm not trying to find a job directly related to my field, because that would be impossible. My work experience has been in food service. I've been trying to get food service jobs, but they all say I'm over-qualified. So the people at the employment center told me to apply for clerical positions. I've been on a couple interviews, but they all say I don't have enough clerical experience. This is really depressing, and I don't know what to do. Should I start lying on the food service applications, because most of them don't even ask about educational experience? I desperately need a job, because my money is running out...but no matter what I do, I'm either over-qualified or under-qualified. I'm starting to wonder why I even bothered to get a degree in the first place.
