An unpardonable story of D.C. hypocrisy

The hypocrisy is unpardonable. President Bush's decision to commute the sentence of a convicted liar brought out the worst in both parties and politics.

In keeping I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby out of jail, Bush defied his promise to hold wrongdoers accountable and undercut his 2000 campaign pledge to "restore honor and dignity" to the White House. And it might be a cynical first step toward issuing a full pardon at the conclusion of his term.

It's like some twisted, political version of Pulp Fiction, where all these different story lines converge into one sick, violent point in time.

Hypocrisy is also in France where Chirac seems to be untouchable for the Clairstream scandal. It is indeed ashame that Libby is not in jail but in politics like everywhere else, any important leader protects his interests and his friends even if it goes against morals or laws.

GW won't be too worried. There is probably a good amount of money out there doing "foot in mouth", speaches to the little league or Boy Scouts in his future.

Bush will do very nicely I'm sure as he always has since birth.Born to wealth and being their advocate since taking office will serve him well when he leaves office and basically direct payments in gratitude can be made. While he won't be as popular an ex president as most,he will get paid plenty to talk about "did'nt you love my tax cuts" and "don't we need more?" to his frat buddies.

Its politics. If it were a Dem in the white house, and one of their boys were in the same position...they would do the same thing, and the Republicans would be complaining like the Dems are now.

if we fill the jails full of people that are actually tried and found guilty of commiting crimes, then where are we going to put all the terrorists? come on people, use your head. it's a matter of national security.

I used my head. Had to clean out the fleshlight afterward, too.
