Amy Jackson (born 31 January 1991) is a British model and film actress, who has appeared in Indian feature films. Before starting her acting career, Jackson won the Miss Teen World competition in 2008 and went on to win Miss Liverpool in 2010. She later starred in the successful Tamil period-drama, Madrasapattinam in 2010, which won her plaudits for her role and launched her acting career...

After winning the Miss Teen Liverpool and Miss Teen Great Britain pageants she won the contest Miss Teen World 2008.[2] Jackson won 18 various prizes, which included a modelling contract in the US a $20,000 scholarship.

Jackson signed a second modelling contract with Boss Model Management and modelled all over Europe. This resulted in her debut in a Tamil film as a female lead in Madrasapattinam opposite Arya. Released on 9 July 2010, the film was a huge hit of the year 2010. Later, Amy had replaced Trisha Krishnan in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa's remake in Hindi to be directed by Gautham Menon. With this Amy will be entering Bollywood. Jackson's co-star Prateik Babbar was caught up with commitments to his Hindi film, Dhobi Ghat produced by Aamir Khan. The stage is all set for an encore of the phenomenal success of VTV and the project will commence filming on 4th April 2011.

Amy Jackson is a British actress and model known for her work in Bollywood films [3][4] and can currently be seen on The CW's superhero series Supergirl in the role of Imra Ardeen/Saturn Girl. She began her modeling career at the age of 16, and went on to win the (2009) Miss Teen World competition. Subsequently, director A. L. Vijay cast her as the leading lady of the Tamil language period-drama Madrasapattinam (2010). Jackson continues to act in Indian films of all languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.

Jackson was born in Isle of Man to British Christian parents, Alan and Marguerita Jackson.[5] She has an elder sister, Alicia. The family returned to their parents' home in Woolton, Liverpool, two years after Amy's birth so that her father, who works as a producer for BBC Radio Merseyside, could continue his media career.

Jackson attended St Edward's College, where she studied English Literature, Philosophy and Ethics.[6][7][8]

On 25 September 2017, it was announced that Jackson was cast in her first Hollywood role as Imra Ardeen aka Saturn Girl in The CW's superhero drama series Supergirl (2017). The character made her first appearance in the third season.[37] The series, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.

Jackson can next be seen in Shankar's much anticipated film 2.0 (2018) releasing April 2018 alongside Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, as well as in Prem's Kannada film The Villain (2018) alongside Shiva Rajkumar and Sudeep.

In 2012, Jackson was in a relationship with Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar.[47][48] Later in 2012, the relationship ended.[49] In 2013, she was dating boxer Joe Selkirk. On 8 December 2013, she was reportedly assaulted by Joe Selkirk outside the Malmaison Hotel in Liverpool.[50] Although Jackson was not willing to pursue the case, the Crown Prosecution Service decided a prosecution was necessary.[51] After pleading guilty, Selkirk was given a 12-month community supervision order and ordered to pay £300 costs.[52]

In 2017, Jackson was setting up a restaurant in London with her mother Marguerita. It was scheduled to open its doors by the end of August. She said, "I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I love visiting new restaurants and trying different cuisines all over the world. My love for food has inspired me to open this restaurant".[53] As of 4 March, 2017, Jackson announced her new mobile app, Amy Jackson Official App, as in-app social feed for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in collaboration with New York-based startup EscapeX.[54]
