Probably. Just my opinion though but America as a whole needs to learn how to accept criticism better I think even if totally in disagreement. I say this cause I was watching celebrity big brother last night here in the UK. And some of the house mates where talking to Steve Baldwin, Alec Baldwin's bro about political issues and man did he look pissed lol.
I think the world has an entirely ass backwards, and erroneous, view of the average American. In truth, the average American isn't much different from the average German or the average Brit or the average Chinaman or the average Russian or.... You get the point. We're all just people, and vilifying each other only makes us all look ignorant and dumb. Sure, our celebrities and politicians are basically all royal douches, but the rest of us? All pretty much the same.

I've read that our standing, or the world view, changed once George W. and Dick(less) Cheney boarded their planes and left D.C.
But I really don't know how people in other parts of the world view, or what they actually know about the average American. I'm not even sure what the "average American" is, as our nation is so diverse.
Average American or Americans generally, however you want to identify the nation broadly speaking. It's perhaps worth bearing in mind other nations are also diverse.
Really... People in China prefer to be called Asian-American.

You know the fat thing and IQ stereotype isnt something that comes to mind for me personally. To be honest when I think of America the only negative thing I think is about the general religious extremism, Christian far right etc and various other things like cults and shit. But your a massive country so that shit is bound to occur.
