May their memories be a blessing. I read about it late last night and my heart sank. But they did catch a suspect, which is nice. I was kind of hoping he wouldn't get the chance to stand trial but Iowans do things differently.
Apparently this turd has a history of assault, harassment, and just plain stupid behavior like carrying a confederate battle flag outside high school football games. He has posted several anti police videos on Youtube making claims, mostly false, about “Police *****, Civil Rights ********* at Urbandale High School” and recorded a person arguing with police officers asking him to leave the area.

One of his neighbors had this to say:
“From the first time I met him, just sometimes you look at a person and the lights are a little dim,” said Richard Nance, 73. Still, he said he never thought “he would **** a couple of cops.”
“An ****** on public safety officers is an ****** on the public safety of all Iowans,” Gov. Terry Branstad (R) and Lt. Gov Kim Reynolds (R) said in a joint statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the police officers who were tragically ****** in the line of duty as well as the officers who continue to put themselves in harm’s way.”
