Alert! Project 2025 wants to Outlaw pornography

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025

Project 2025 is a plan to reshape the executive branch of the U.S. federal government in the event of a Republican victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.[2][3] Established in 2022, the project seeks to recruit tens of thousands of conservatives to Washington, D.C., to replace existing federal civil service workers it characterizes as the "deep state", to further the objectives of the next Republican president.[4] Although participants in the project cannot promote a specific presidential candidate, many have close ties to Donald Trump and the Trump 2024 presidential campaign.[5] The plan would perform a swift takeover of the entire executive branch under a maximalist version of the unitary executive theory — a theory proposing the president of the United States has absolute power of the executive branch — upon inauguration.[6]

The development of the plan is led by the Heritage Foundation, an American conservative think tank, in collaboration with some eighty partners including Turning Point USA led by Charlie Kirk; the Conservative Partnership Institute including former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows as senior partner; the Center for Renewing America led by former Trump-appointee Office of Management and Budget director Russell Vought; and America First Legal led by former Trump senior advisor Stephen Miller.[7][8]

Project 2025 envisions widespread changes across the entire government, particularly with regard to economic and social policy and the role of the federal government and federal agencies. The plan proposes slashing U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) funding, dismantling the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, and eliminating the cabinet departments of education and commerce.[9] Citing an anonymous source, The Washington Post reported Project 2025 includes immediately invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807 to deploy the military for domestic law enforcement and directing the DOJ to pursue Trump adversaries.

He goes on to suggest wide-ranging criminal penalties.

Purveyors of pornography, Roberts writes, “are child predators and misogynistic exploiters of women. Their product is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime. Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.”

Please Jerk Responsibly
They should be as successful as the Nixon administration, when "porn" was mostly poor black-and-white photos

Appears they are not waiting until 2025. Pornhub has gone dark in North Carolina - no access. They have a message read by Cherie Deville when you go to the site. This is bullshit.

Even putting aside the moral argument, the porn industry generates far too much revenue for it to be shut down altogether.
"Blocking" it on a statewide basis is also pointless with VPN. And VPNs are essential for network security, so they will never be outlawed.

Conservative lawmakers want to ban porn, but they’re the ones consuming most of it. What’s going on here?

As bans on drag and gender-affirming care advance through state legislatures, conservative lawmakers are turning their attention to internet pornography.

Republican lawmakers in congress and 19 states from coast to coast are creating laws aimed at requiring visitors to pornographic websites provide their government ID to access the X-rated material. The effort, lawmakers say, is keep people under 18 from viewing porn.

People living in conservative states are far more likely to search for porn online and spend more time on porn websites, according to a 2015 study analyzing data from Gallup. PornHub’s 2022 data shows states where viewers spent the most time on the site include Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and West Virginia—four of the most religious states in America, according to Pew Research Center.

So why such an ardent push when they’re the ones watching the most porn?

The conservative pushback on the sexual revolution of the 80s and the sexual scandal surrounding prominent evangelical pastors have also informed the anti-porn movement, but strong religious beliefs and porn use (one of those forbidden behaviors) are connected.

People who have strict views on sexuality like believing sex is for one cis man and one cis women forever in marriage were more likely to violate their own values, according to a 2023 study published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy.

Exactly.
I discovered that with one of my local neighbors (I live in Germany), a religious dude (he wasn't a pastor but acted like he was), back in 2017. The guy had always been very strict regarding sex, encouraging married couples to remain faithful and denouncing sex outside marriage. Guess what, one day we learned that he had cheated one his wife several times with girls wayyy younger than him (he was around 55 at that time).
The biggest cheaters and sex-lovers are the ones denouncing sex.

In 2010, the U.S. justice department tried tp prosecute John Stagliano, a porn producer. After 3 days,, the charges were dropped. The judge said. "I hope the government will learn a lesson from this experience." Job made "a covenant with his eyes." Jesus said looking at a woman, with lust in your heart, is a sin. I look at this matter this way: the evidence of creation surrounds me; the sky, the woods, the oceans, the flowers. They were created for me to look at and enjoy,. I see no difference between the beauty of nature and witnessing the beauty and energy of the human form. For me, it's a settled matter. Unfortunately, the control freaks have a much different point of view.

Here in Canada there a Pentecostal minister who became a senator who preaches against pre marital sex but was sleeping with a teenage girl

A former Canadian senator has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of criminal harassment in relation to alleged incidents during which he was still a member of Parliament’s upper house.

Don Meredith was charged Saturday, the Ottawa police sexual assault and child abuse section said, after an investigation into a woman’s allegations of sexual assault in 2013 and 2014. Police said she was an adult at the time.

Mr. Meredith, 58, served as a senator in the Red Chamber between 2010 and 2017. He was released Saturday on a promise to appear in court.

Ottawa police say they’re concerned there could be more victims and are asking anyone with more information to get in contact.

Mr. Meredith resigned as senator five years ago just as his colleagues were about to vote on his ouster over allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

The allegations were outlined in a probe by a Senate investigations officer that determined Mr. Meredith had a two-year sexual relationship with a girl that started when she was 16 years old.

The former senator denied having sex with the woman before she became an adult, but the report alleged that he had intercourse with the girl once when she was 17 and twice when she was 18.

It's not as if The Orange Trump Swine is bad enough with all of his criminal enterprises, but maybe NOW some of the people on this forum who support Trump or are on the fence about it will wake the fuck up and realize yes, motherfuckers, Th-Uh LeFt is RIGHT about cOnSeRvATiVes.

Texas does not get the message read by Cherie Deville? I would feel cheated. I do not want to live in a fascist theocracy. It's easy to blame the religious lunatic politicians but the real problem are the religious lunatic voters.
