Al Franken resigned. Now it's Dan Johnson's turn

Kentucky Rep. Dan Johnson won't resign, says sexual ***** allegations are politically motivated

House Representative Dan Johnson of Bullitt County says he has no intention of resigning. Johnson, who represents the 49th District, made the announcement from his church in Louisville on Tuesday morning

The news conference began with Johnson and members of his congregation singing, "O Come All Ye Faithful." He went on to address allegations made in a report by the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting.

A woman told the outlet that when she was 17, Johnson sexually assaulted her at a New Year's Eve party at his home. The woman said she was ****** in the basement with one of Johnson's ********* when he allegedly came downstairs and touched her inappropriately. Johnson said the woman's story has no merit.
"I don't want to blast this girl. I have compassion for her and I am very sorry that she's in this dark place in her life," he said.

Johnson also said he would not resign and that he plans to continue his bid for reelection.
"People are being judged by accusation. They are not only being judged, they are being condemned by accusations," he said.
"It seems there is a lot of people willing to jump to judgment without any proof," Johnson added. " If that's the case, Frankfort might have a lot of empty seats if it runs off of just accusations."
