Why not put the scene up from A Clockwork Orange (1971) ? Same thing. In that one no alarms were going off instead Malcolm McDowell's Alex got violently ill. Then in the very next scene the doctor put him in that contraption that held his eyes open as the laboratory assistant put drops in his eyes. As they played Beethoven's Fourth Symphony and he had to watch those Nazi propaganda films. That contraption that Malcolm wore was on director's Stanley Kubrick's orders. As a result of it, he damaged his corneas and he went temporarily blind. The pads kept slipping off and the probes actually did scratch his corneas. True story.
