I wonder when Charles Rangel will join him. I won't hold my breath.
The weird thing about this case is that Snipes didn't even evade taxes...he wasn't convicted of any felonies. Failing to file is rarely even prosecuted...even with people who actually have money. The IRS just wants the taxes. Snipes though, he and his brilliant legal minds decided to just not pay and, when the IRS caught up with him, their defense was that Snipes wasn't Constitutionally obligated to pay.
As heinous as it is to see somebody sentenced to three years of productive life for a non-violent offense, he's actually pretty lucky that's all he got. He was calling Uncle Sam's bluff. Very stupid movie, Nino! Uncle Sam is his brother's keeper, literally!
