What a lot of people do not know his military career (3 Purple Hearts, Silver & Bronze Star). Charles did not like to discuss it because as he put it "a lot of bad memories". He is also one of my favorite character actors. He played a priest in one low budget movie that had me in tears from laughing. His final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery.

I'LL BE DAMN YOU ARE RIGHT!! I thought he left here awhile back. The homepage I had showed it like he just died. Mea Culpa everyone!

I loved the role he played on an episode of N.C.I.S. It's still one of my favorites.

Great role in NCIS, I will have to watch that one again. He played many great parts over his career.

Back in the late 70s I was suppose to work on a movie that he starred in. Movie got delayed and relocated, things didn't work out for me, but they were filming near where I lived, so I hung out at the set for a few days. Durning was a very nice guy and very professional actor!
