Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
I'm no big fan of Harry Reid by any stretch, so please don't take this as a liberal slant. These types of obstructionist tactics are a huge part of what's wrong with this fucked-up American system of government....where one single, solitary asshole like Richard Shelby can hold up action (argue whether good or bad somewhere else....government has to do SOMETHING in order to work) that is sorely needed if we are to even begin to ****** the myriad of problems that are upon us now. This is nothing more than extortion....just another reason to consider revisiting these incredibly wise words from the most important and influential American who ever lived, Thomas Jefferson:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness".
We're getting real close to the "alter or abolish it" part as far as I am concerned.
