A crossroads in life...

I'll try and keep a really long story short, so here goes...

In Feb this year I decided to leave work. I had been in the job doing shifts for the past 13 years, and the chance came to leave with a reasonable financial package behind me, so I took it.

I decided to further my education with a part time business course, and work on a project that I have - an idea that could prove to be a good one!

The idea I have been working on is a unique one, and it will benefit other major companies if they take it on board.

last week I had a meeting with my old boss, who has now moved to a different company 40 miles from where I live.

He is really keen on this idea I have, but he said I need to go away and work on it to make it better - more saleable to people, he also said it has the potential to make a lot of money.
He also indirectly offered me a job with him, a more managerial kind of job.

So the question I ask is what do I do?

Do I forget the project I have worked on and take the job, or do I hope this idea I have will work?

Money is getting tight now, and I need to make a decision soon.
Doing both isn't an option, and taking on this job will mean shift work again, plus it is an 80 mile round trip (the job I left was 2 mins away from home)
Your honest advice is appreciated. :)
