911 Remembered

8:46 a.m. 9/11/01. Almost exactly ten years ago from this very minute. To those that fell, we won't forget you. To those that helped that day, we thank you.

To all my fellow Americans, to all my friends around the world...this is not a day to bicker, or to argue...this is a day to remember what happens when fear and hatred takes over the human spirit......and also a day to acknowledge the resilience, compassion, and strength that comes forth after such an event...it is a day to remind us that we should not, and do not, need such a tragedy to unite ALL of us.

We were strong before. We are strong after. We are the United States of America.

while i'm sure everyone is going to get swept away in amnesia ridden emotion this year, could someone tell me what exactly we're supposed to remember about 9/11?

what are we not supposed to forget?

I'm not sure if your post was an attempt to be cool, pretend to intellectualize, or an honest search for an answer. If it was the first two, in my opinion you have posted the silliest most self absorbed post I have have read on this site. If you are sincere, I think you have to answer it yourself. Searching for that answer is a human and noble thing.

For me, what I will remember is the thousands of people who were of different nationalities and religions who died. I also remember the horrors that the people who attacked the the U.S. brought on the people of Afghanistan and Iraq when they have been enduring the U.S. military responses.

I also remember the exceptionally brave people who attempted to help and save the people who were victims of the attacks.

I thought it was made very clear by George W, that "the turrists **** us fer our freedum". You cant possibly think that somehow a US foreign policy of hatred and terrorism against the Islamic world would create people who "**** 'Murica"

Everyone knows the great USA can do no wrong, everyone else is wrong

I'm curious and interested in any accompanying information. What is the source of the poll?

Is the point of the post to tell us that the US deserved to be attacked and that the US citizens feel that they deserved it?

That's the spirit! "You think different to me. Me hit you good".

".....an idiotic irresponsible 18 years old who said that he was glad that 9/11 happened."

Someone makes a comment like this deserves to have his ass kicked.

The F 16's and/or 18's were flying up and own the coast earlier in the day.. they must have made 3 - 4 passes in 2 hrs. time.

Wait, I hear the intermittent sound of growling get engines over the
Pacific O right now as I type this.

I watched a little bit of the ceremony on BBC news today, and it was fairly moving

The programmes they show every year though, makes them lose credibility in the special one IMO

I suppose they did do a lot more this year though, and ten years does seem like a good milestone

I just hope that new thing from the daily mail turns out to be false though especially on the anniversary.

It makes me wonder how the suspicious person got on the plane, if he was carrying something, with all the security at airports

I thought there would never be a terrorist ****** involving a plane again, and i still hope there isn't

Probably an electric shaver with a Bic lighter attached. They need 50 Dept. of Homeland Security agents to examine it and file an expense voucher.

Just got done watching the National Geographic Channel's George Bush 9/11 interview and I have to say, I have a greater respect for George Bush and the decisions he had to make on the fly while being the nation's first "Wartime President" in dedades!
