50mph on the freeway?

Is that really the limit? It must take ages to get anywhere if abiding the speed limit! What's exceptable speeding over in the US? Whenever I watch a cop-car tv show from the US, they're like doing 80mph in a car chase, here in the UK, that's what most people do day to day! Hitting 130-50's when the chase is on! Tell me you don't sit at 50mph!
