Viewtiful Joe wasn't bad.
MDK 2 I finished, but it was hard.
Zelda 2 wasn't hard at all.
The Metal Slugs can be frustrating, but beatable.
Tetris will rule your life if you let it.
Bionic Commando was VERY tough, but I beat it.
Doom I could beat with my eyes closed (I overplayed it.
Contra series was very easy except for #3. WOW! Never did beat that one.

Defender I don't remember being very hard. I'll check it out again soon (working 2600)

DMC 3 was stupid hard in the hour I spent playing it.

R-Type wasn't too bad on the Sega Master System.

Battletoads was fucking retarded hard. And, the gameplay sucked, making it an exercise in frustration.

Ghouls and Ghosts. Near impossible, but I did finally beat it....last year :p

Ninja Gaiden I didn't enjoy enough to TRY to beat them.

I dont know the great majority of them, in fact the only two I do know are COD 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2. COD is a little unfair on that list cause it is not that hard if you are patient enough, its one of the few games on the xbox i can brag having the full 1,000 point for . NG2 is a bitch! I finished it on normal, went one level up, okay, yes that was fine, but then going up another stage pissed me off far to much far to quickly to want to give it a second chance there.

BULLSHIT.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is not one of THE hardest games ever. If the bastards that created that list think it is, then they obviously haven't played many games. Yes on the hardest setting VETERAN - COD4 is a tad evil. But it is not as evil as Darth Vader. So it does not qualify for this list. On Veteran level on COD4 practise makes perfect. If you have completed it on ALL of the difficulty settings below Veteran, by the time you play on Veteran, you should manage. The only part of the whole of COD4 on Veteran that was hard for me was the waiting to be picked up at the Ferris Wheel section on the Chinobil [not correct spelling I know] section. As there is wave upon wave of commie whores coming at you. And not so many check points to play with. Besides that section the rest of the game is well do-able without going postal. Reflexes and hawk eyes are the keys to winning the game. On Veteran difficulty that one section alone took me about 90 minutes of rage inducing gameplay to finish. The rest of COD4 was a walk in the park compared to it. So NO Call of Duty 4 should not be on that list.

what the fuck you lookin at?
  • Guitar Hero - For the most part I can play expert guitar but there are songs that I have no chance on!
  • CoD4 - Veteran kicked my ass so bad I gave up after just a few levels!
  • Contra - beat the first 3 back in the day when they were released, but the 4th I only made it a few levels on.
  • God of War - never played in on the god setting. But its a great fucking series!!!
  • Battletoads - played it back in the day, but don't remember if I ever beat it or not
  • Ninja Gaiden - was never any good at this series and the latest one is damn near impossible!!!

The rest I've not played. Games have gotten easier as of late. No doubt due to being able to save your progress. back with NES, SNES and genesis you either beat the game in one sitting or you started from the beginning. With limited lives and continues in the early games beating them used to mean a whole lot more than beating a game today!

no racing games in it?
like gran turismo^^
its hard to get ALL cars :D even the 24 hour race in gt4 :D

A couple of the hardest games I ever played were early PC games, one called Myst, the other Ecstatica. Ecstatica was also one of the freakiest games i ever played and I didn't have a clue what was going on in either.

Needless to say I never got very far with them, which annoyed me because I remember enjoying them.

I beat Zelda 2 after staying up for a week straight >.<

none of the others...like battletoads good lord that one is annoying...

o and portal that one was easy...

Aces&Jacks

All of the Capcom games were a pain in the ass because most required timed jumping that after a few dozen times, you just stop playing in frustration.

I just uninstalled portal. It's a decent enough game. It just didn't have enough "wow factor" to overcome the "frustration factor".

What a crappy list!
Portal? COD4?

It feels like those kind of lists are just made with some random out-of-the-ass picks to make it seem professional. I can name 50 retro games that are ten times what Veteran COD4 is. Games today are like taking a **** compared to the nightmarishly unforgiving games of the past.
