guys...it's VERY true that a lot of the awards are very political. AVN awards Wicked every year for best movie and Evan Stone for best male performer and on and on. Wicked makes great movies and Evan is a sweetheart and a good actor and performer, but the BEST? no! Are Wicked's movies the BEST? fuck no! They spend the most and make porn that may get people who not watch porn otherwise interested and of course couples. But I can't imagine that the majority of porn fans wants dialogue and costumes and special effects when they watch porn! I want to see pornstars fucking not singing or doing fake accents or pretending to be aliens lol

Now on a side note, I am personally nominated for an AVN award and an XBIZ award which are great recognition because they are both for my sites which I run myself. That to me is important and very awesome to even be recognized out of the thousands of considered sites and girls. I do not advertise in XBIZ or AVN, and I am outspoken on a lot of issues that are against the industry which leads me to believe that it isn't ALL political.

BTW there are foreign categories in the awards and Europe has their own version of the AVN Awards. The majority of the awards are US based because why? AVN AND XBIZ are US based and that is the market in which they are recognizing!

These award shows are becoming a joke. I hate to say that but it is true. We were having this discussion the other day and even the people I know that are nominated find it a joke. If you want a real awards show, then you let the fans vote. They buy the porn, they should vote for their favorites.

So it's webmasters and talent and directors and agents and anyone else who wishes to submit their choices. The fans aren't the best to vote simply because then it becomes a disaster. For example, I have 70,000 friends on Myspace and 12000 followers on Twitter and if I get them to vote for me does that mean I should win a contest? no, it doesn't. With the social networking sites and all the ways that one could stack the deck against someone who may be more qualified to win it isn't fair even though it would help me.

Take the Booble contest for example. Totally rigged and based on who can get a large TGP site to post for them and who can have a bot written for them to vote automatically over and over.

I think that the industry insiders are the best to choose the nominees. Its that way in football and baseball for the All Stars...they are voted on by the other players and coaches first, then the fans second!

Actually for type of film I think Wicked has the best type. There the closest to resembling films from the golden age of porn. All the stupidly gimmicky circus act stuff in the last 10-15 years is what has really ruined porn. At least they try. If anything they try too hard and go too far, because they don‘t need an intricate masterpiece of a plot, but just something to tie things together and make it erotic. Eroticism is something that’s totally lost on all but a few companies. Wicked’s problem is, and I not trying to offend anybody by saying this, they need better and younger looking women and more variety. Also it doesn't bother me personally, but the mandatory use of condoms probably drags them down also.

As far as people like Evan Stone are concerned, I don't care about the men in porn unless they are ugly to the point of ruining a scene or douchebags and then it's only in a negative sense, (Or course most of them are douchebags so that is a problem. In fact him and a small handful of others, like Tommy Gun, are some of the only men in the industry I could ever even tolerate.) but he probably really is better than 99+% of the people in the industry. There is something to be said about being a normal nice guy, in shape, and not horrid looking that can extend your career a long time and that people aren't offended to work with. While only a few men might win all the time I know one thing it's a lot better than one of the stupid, bald, gay, tattooed, tranny screwing, and/or douchebags that seem to fill out the ranks in male talent in recent years. It's like producers go to the gay Neo-Nazi section of their local prison to get their male talent.

I know Jane because my departed wife, who was the original moderator, showed me a few posts of Jane which WE found straight to the point and entertaining. She respected Jane.
