Texas just keeps on rolling. Glad no one is giving them any love. They were ranked #1 last year for a week and cratered shortly thereafter so it's better we stay off the radar completely.

Just keep winning, guys. See y'all in the tournament.

The Longhorns are defintely playing like a #1 seed this year, and as of right now, in my opinion, they should be #1 in the polls tomorrow.

Kansas is #1 in the nation but #2 in the Big 12? :dunno::confused:

Interesting how these things play out. Good thing this isn't college football. The rankings are really secondary as long as they are reasonably close to being accurate. I actually hope that Texas is never ranked #1 this year....until the final poll. We'll see. The Jayhawks have a great team as usual so their hold on the rank might eventually turn out to be legitimate. They have the pedigree so I guess you have to give them bonus points for that. Texas has been a disappointment in recent years so I guess they still have dues to pay. I'm good with it. Should be interesting as time goes on that's for sure.

Yeah for sure. K-State looked great last night. Where the hell has that team been all year? :dunno:

Rock, chalk....what the fuck!!! :1orglaugh Not all that excited about it to be honest....I much prefer an under-the-radar Longhorn team going into the final part of the year but it doesn't appear to be in the cards.

I wont read too much into the Kansas loss. This was the perfect "set-up" game. Kansas beat K-State by 24 two weeks ago. They got a little too full of themselves after that #1 ranking. I think they thought they were going to go into Manhattan and roll over K-State again. Pullen went Jimmer Fredette.

Now Kansas will be the "under-the radar" team heading into the Tourny, and all eyes will be on the Longhorns.

The bowls are starting to look like a pretzel. Texas is a frontrunner, but their next game against the Cowboys is no gimme.

Nice spin attempt there, "Jayhawk Will"! :1orglaugh

A powerhouse program like Kansas is never "under-the-radar" but I admire your attempt to deflect KU's thrashing last night by trying to somehow turn it into a positive development. After watching his post-game interview, I don't think Bill Self shares your sentiments. :D

That said, I agree that it is only one loss and is relatively inconsequential in the long run. Kansas is a major presence and they will be heard from again....about that there is no question. I have nothing but extreme respect for their basketball program.

As far as Texas is concerned, if this team is to compete for the NC, it won't matter where they are ranked. Last year's team couldn't handle the pressure and crumbled down the stretch. What this year's squad is able to do remains to be seen. So far I am encouraged. We'll see.

Some great basketball being played in the Big 12 this season for sure. Mizzou-Texas Tech going at it in a close one right now as I write this.

I guess the Buckeyes were pretty pissed off. So my SPARTANS got beat...bad. That and William Buford.

In my own mid-major predictions, Conference USA will have two members make the NCAA tournament this season. The question that comes to mind is which two. Tonight will almost certainly help answer that question because the top four schools in the league standings (UTEP, UAB, Memphis and Southern Miss) are playing each other in a possible preview of next month's C-USA Tournament semifinals, with UAB at Memphis along with UTEP at Southern Miss.

Depending on the outcomes, either UTEP, UAB or Memphis will be in first place by the time you wake up Thursday, which is a good place to start when trying to explain just how competitive this league has become. The current state of things can be attributed partly to Memphis still transitioning into the post John Calipari era and partly to the rest of the league (Southern Miss, especially) improving. Either way, the result has C-USA with four schools in the top 55 of the RPI and all within a game of each other in the league standings, meaning this is the best and most balanced version of C-USA since Louisville, Cincinnati, Marquette, DePaul, Charlotte and Saint Louis exited after the 2004-05 season, even though C-USA has been under the national radar this year.

I do predict that there will be 2 C-USA teams punching their tickets to the Big Dance, but trying to determine which exact two remains a tough projection to make.

Good ol' Bracketbusters this weekend, starting with VCU at Wichita State tonight - in my opinion this is a bigger game for VCU; I just don't think VCU has enough quality wins to merit an at-large tourney bid at this moment.

The one and only.
Boilermakers by 6 tomorrow over the Buckeyes.

Mark it, dude!

Tough place to play tomorrow, but can the Boilers get over the beat down they took here in C-bus a few weeks ago?

• Need more quality minutes out of Deshaun Thomas in his homecoming. (Ft Wayne)
• Diebler needs to play better than he has the last few weeks.
• Buford needs to stay hot.
• Sully needs to stay out of foul trouble.

Should be a good matchup between Sullinger/Johnson and Craft/Moore.
Painter probably deserves to be Big 10 coach of the year.
