I do have to say, having listened to the first track 3 times now, they compromised, and used JBL mics. The mixing is a bit flat. They reduced the middle frequencies from Tom's voice - which is supposed to amplify the growly quality, but doesn't. Also, the bass used is almost certainly a Yamaha, and it's so round and bouncy. And, they didn't separate the drums for the final recording. That ****'s all happening in the same room. There's terrible frequency crossover around 500.

You may likely never ask me about an album again...

Here's something to whet your appetite - the first song is way more like Bone Machine than anything I've heard from him since. So my one song evaluation, which is all I can do right now, it seems he may be making better use of musicians other than himself again....
