So... ******* someone to bend over... beating their bum in a most humiliating manner.... is going to get you... respect?!
*falls over laughing as off*
How fucking dumb can you get?! Since when do you get respect by *********** them?!
You may get fear... you may get compliance... but you do NOT get respect.
Beating **** to get them to do what you want is nothing but a huge failure as parent.
/S, parent
It's a form of conditioning, just like Pavlov’s Dog. Some people might not like it, but it's also probably one of if not the most effective one. Everybody understands pain, and even more so it's quick and sometimes one needs a quick strong disciplining solution for a *****. It's not really what I would consider real physical ***** either. It's not like they are actually beating them or making them fly across the room. Since it's important for ******** to listen to their parents for not only the parents' good but even more for the *****'s good sometimes it might have to be done. Sometimes having a ***** sit for hours in a corner or not get some toy or candy just doesn't cut it when it's very important and that one feels that the situation has gotten to a point that you mean business under no uncertain terms.
One gains respect in other ways than disciplining. I find it rare though that somebody doesn't respect their parents because they were given spankings as a ***. In fact I can't think of a single incidence of it myself among people I know. I can't anybody that has ever been bothered by it once they grew up.
I don't think it's a tool that should be used all the time or even very often myself or used ever used as a first resort except in extreme circumstances, but if I have ******** and I come to the point where I feel it has to be done for the *****'s own benefit, and the situation is important enough, I'm doing it.
I also think it's amusing more of the **** I knew growing up who had lax parents or had parents who just gave their **** time outs had a much higher rate of their ******** grow up to be gigantic assholes, not to mention lazy and undisciplined...and guess what, they also usually respected their parents a lot less than the others ****. Imagine that.
