I don't know how many of my fellow mobsters check out our site on a regular basis, but over the past 5 days or so....we have had a SERIOUS problem with spam! Mainly it is about rx *****. Now, I don't exactly know what can be done to prevent it, but I do have a request:
Everyone who is an administrator for the site needs to check it regularly and DELETE spam when it is found. Just mark it as TRASH and then empty the trash when done. I have been on vacation since Wednesday, and virtually everyday, I have had to delete spam from our site & in the past 5 days, I would have to say I have had to, conservatively speaking, delete 500+ pieces of spam! Literally, I have been deleting about 100 pieces of spam a day!!! Sooooo, seeing as if it wasn't for me there would be over 500 posts to deal with....I am calling on EVERYONE to check the site regularly and delete spam when it is found so we aren't relying on one person to do it...as that lets us wide open to tons of spam if that one person...or nobody is paying attention.

Apart from deleting them, there is not a lot more that can be done, unless only members are allowed to post comments, and members have to be verified before being allowed to post.

Yeah I know! I emptied the 4 you marked as spam and just deleted 37 more! Like I said...it got REALLY bad about 5 days ago...I think there have been like 600 spam posts since Wednesday!
I was kinda hoping we could add a captcha or something to avoid having to have all posters register....but like you said...that is probably something for Lelu's other half....as I have no idea how to go about it and if it is even possible for our site.
And like I said...the damn spam bots never ***** unlike us! Ha ha ha!

Comments will need to be approved until a user has at least 1 approved post.
Hopefully, this should slow the arseholes down a bit.
I have been marking the trash as spam so that it does not appear on the site and the same user will not be able to post. We can also specify certain words that will trigger comments to be automatically marked as spam, but that me be a bit difficult being an adult board so I have left that for now.
Let's just see how it goes from now on.
