I like independents who aren't wrapped up in this quota of how they are supposed to act. Conservatives and liberals are all a bunch of douche-bags if you ask me.

You know who I like....Ron Paul. This guy - if elected President - would turn America neutral in world politics. He would focus on the domestic front and get us out of the global mess of things. I sure wish he would win, but it's so unlikely.

something i once considered unlikely:
members of the american government laying the groundwork for a police state.

Never say never. People laughed about Lincoln. People made fun of Reagan's nomination.

They all ate crow.

The country is fed up and frustrated.
The time is ripe for change.

Hell, I broke a promise I made to myself years ago: I registered to vote as a Republican just so I can vote for Paul.

Strike, while the iron is hot. Us old fogey's can only advocate - but we depend on young shoulders like you out there to keep the torch of liberty shining bright.

cheers,
:)

i too am going to be "republican for a day" :D the thing about ron paul's platform that really excites me is this: it's not about the man, it's about the plan. his message of constutionalism is attractive on it's own and is the thing that gets people motivated. just hearing the man speak is refreshing. he is not dapper, tall, attractive, arrogant, or boisterous. i think it is because of this, he does not distract nor detract from the message. i urge anyone who plans to vote in america to check out his message to see what it's all about.

thanks :)

You think we should start a thread titled "Ron Paul" ?

If we are going to get this REAL candidate in office - versus all those puppets - the only way it's going to happen is from grass-roots efforts.

That's what they said about Howard Dean... :1orglaugh

Ron Paul seems a sensible guy. But if I were US citizen, I'd be ********* to vote for him on account of his views on pro-life and ***-control. Plus: I dig nanny states...

He reminds me of the fictitious Presidential candidate Hal Philip Walker from the movie Nashville:

Well I'm glad you aren't a U.S. citizen and can't vote. ;) :D

Re: I'll counter ...

I'll counter ... define impeachment, the terms and the proceedings.

If you know it without looking it up, then you're point is taken.
If you don't, then maybe Americans should look at themselves first.

No no no... I understand exactly what impeachment means. What I'm saying is that we have a person running our country who is dumber than most high school ****. Do you agree that the president should know what Tribal Sovereignty means, or should he need to have people write out answers to questions like these for him?

Bush needs to be impeached because he is a dumbass... not because he is ignorant. We don't need a dumbass running this country.

If they don't dance now, they soon will ...

And John McCain years ago as well.
There are powers at work in both of the major two (2) US parties.

When you don't dance, you don't get to play.
Those that don't dance learn to do so very quickly.

I know the day will come soon when I'll say, "remember what Obama used to be like?"

Where have I heard that before?

No, it is too late to make sense to do that now.
Where have I heard that before ... oh wait, Clinton! (seriously)
I didn't give a crap about Monica, that whole ordeal was rather pathetic.
It was the unethical and alleged ******* business activities, especially Hillary's.
So when they finally focused on Monica, that's basically what people said then as well.

Obama will never be president. Mark my words. IMO, this whole run for president is just a publicity stunt for a future run. A freshman Senator from Illinois thinks because he gave a great speech at the democratic convention has given him enough clout to become president? I don't think so.

Ron Paul is saying things that appeal to Republicans who are embarrassed that W./Cheney turned out to be so awful.

Howard Dean said things that appealed to Democrats who were embarrassed by Big Bubba's scandal plagued second term, which sunk Al Gore in 2000. Howard Dean focussed on issues and made statements that all turned out to be correct, in hindsight.

If Ron Paul wanted Universal Healthcare for all and wanted to cut the military budget to pay for it...I might consider voting for him.

The candidate who presently says the things I'm interested in is Dennis Kucinich but he has zero chance of making it. Maybe a Bill Richardson/John Edwards team can defeat the Obama/Hillary machine.

All the other Republican candidates--Mitt, Rudy, McCain, Brownback, the Thompsons...they are all out-of-step with the reality that W. has created.

on topic (please)
i did a google search wanting to find one good essay on why not to impeach them. failing that, here's these:

Hey bud I'm missing something here lol.All these are reasons why they should be impeached, except maybe the poll.If you are looking for an arguement on why they should NOT be impeached I think the best reason they should not would be the trauma the country went through over Nixon and watergate. While I still don't think that it might be painfull is good enough reason to not hold them to account that is the best arguement for that side IMO.

ok, i think i found an article that . . . articulates . . .well why impeachment procedings won't happen. if you're sick of reading links, just look at the last page. there's the crux.

Not only that but they are just too many rednecks in this country who have no idea what the issues are and just say (NOW UNDERSTAND I AM PARAPHRASING HERE, THIS IS NOT MY VIEW, IT IS JUST A CHARACTERIZATION OF YOUR AVERAGE AMERICAN DIPSHIT) ..."Man, I'm votin' fer McCain, I ain't never lettin' no ****** or no bitch be our fucken president"

This country is in desperate need of change, a shot in the arm, a departure from the status quo politics that has suffocated us for 40 years. Unfortunately the majority of us (who vote) is too stupid to know that.

America is just one big giant stupid redneck that does not manage money well.

Unfortunately I have to basically agree with you.And while McCain is not the favorite of many republicans his maverick stances on some issues does make him more appealling to many others than most of the other republican candidates would have been. But I do not think the hurdles the two potential dem candidates would face are equal. As you said many would not vote for a black or a woman just on that basis alone, but thats basically white men you are refering to.Yes their would also be a lot of white women who feel that race is to big a hurdle to allow them to vote for Obama but Hillary they miight be willing to vote for IMO.I think a lot of them even ones who have voted for republicans in the past such as carrer professional women might see a lot of themselves in Hillary, and the what I think has been a very sexist attitude towards her now and in her past. Those women know about the extra hurdles women face in the world trying to be accepted as being equal to men as they have experienced many of that themselves i'm sure. And the major difference here is that women are not a minority especially when it comes to voting. There are significantly more women voters than men.

• Women vote in higher numbers than men, and have done so in every election since 1964. In 2000, 7.8 million more women voted than men did. Because of unprecedented voter registration efforts, women may vote in even larger numbers in 2004.

And those numbers are from 2000,the gap is most likely even wider now.
Now i'm not saying Hillary would win,she does seem to be a real lightening rod for some pretty tough attacks and does have a fairly negative image.
So I guess if I had to bet right now I would bet we get a President McCain who I don't think is nearly as bad and naive as GWB but will not mean any significant needed changes eithier.Assuming Obama is the nominee, which seems likely expect a lot of very nasty racist ( be afraid of him white america) rhertoric to used on him.Maybe I'm wrong and people will see that it is their interest to have a change from pubs and elect him anyway,I truly hope so,but like I said I would not be on it.

They work for the men behind the curtains; the Illuminati. Death to all secret societies! Uphold the constitution and fight for the freedom and independence of man.

Just about everyone in Washington should be impeached and imprisoned.

I'd like this country to be "We, the people" again.

Also, we need to take back our rights to print our own money from the Federal Reserve.

Anyone associated with the Rothchild and Rockefeller need to be kicked out of this country.
