Learning to Shoot A *** For The First Time

smith and wesson makes a nice small frams 9mm, good for females for self defense, not too much kick when you pull the trigger, a nice .40 or .45 if you require a little more stopping power, sig makes a semi-auto .357 which im sure is a blast....i want one myself.

That would be a .357 Sig, not a .357 S&W.

.380, 9mm to .40 are all good choices. I have seen .40's the size and bulk of .380's.

I learned to shoot at the age of 9mm with a beretta 92 then moved to something more powerful a paraord p13-45 and then learned to shoot with a 44magnum, 454 casull, 475 linebaugh and 50ae. I learned to shoot with my uncle who was a former USAF pilot but who during his youth went at the range all the time.

if you are not familier with handguns I would suggest a hammerless ********. the reason being, that you only have to point and shoot no cocking, loading magizines or other stuff to get ready and its much easier to mantain

Yeah. And they don't jam. I always thought snub-noses were a thing of beauty:

Nice and simple.

It's important to not develop a flinch too.

This is where the 22 Long Rifle sessions help prevent when you move on tho the bigger cartridges.

Also, practice looking at the target with both eys open as you look into the sight.

Once centered, pay little attention to the rear sight if you're using iron sights (obviously), Front Sight Front Sight Front Sight !

:hatsoff:

Nice Posts !! ^ • ^^ • ^^^ • ^^^^

I have my eye on a .40 S&W FN mfgr Hi Power, but I hear that they may have weak (thinner milled than the 9mm Luger counterparts) slides. Who knows :dunno:

I only have one, a 9mm Browning. Last on this page. I think the Gold one much prettier but that's at an auction and only for show and collecting.

I really love that Sig P 210 second one down. These are really the creme de la creme, if you can find one for less that 2k. :o

Another thing that is often overlooked -

If you have a loaded ****** / ******** in the home for security, make damn certain you load up the mags and / or cylinder with hollowpoints and not Full Metal Jacket under any circumstances !

Try to find out what the police dept in your locality is using and try to duplicate that load. It works out for you in court better if, God forbid . . . .

If you have neighbors like most of us, be advised - a full metal jacket can and or will travel through an amazing amount of material before its energy dissipates as they simply do not "mushroom". Contrary to anti gunner belief that Jacketed Hollow Points are evil super dooper power killers, they displace all of they're energy on your target as a full metal jacket could go through 2 - 3 people (in a row). You need not collateral damages !! Believe me !! :hatsoff:

When I used to shoot handguns I mainly used corbon, winchester, remington and federal ammo. For rifles I used black hills, winchester an corbon. Norma and Sellier& Bellot were disappointing. There are better ammo than the hollow point, which are the following
454 casul from winchester Premium Link Upgrade a velocity of 1427 fp/s and muzzle energy of 1176 lbs/feet at 100 yards
460 s&w magnum from winchester
Premium Link Upgrade a velocity of 1592 fps and a muzzle energy of 2012 lbs/feet at 100 yards
500 s&w magnum from corbon
Premium Link Upgrade 1800 fps and 2338 lbs/ft or energy
And let's not forget another great *** the wildey automag

Of course you must have training to shoot these cartridges but trust me these cartridges are very powerful enough to pierce a class 2 armor vest. They are a first shot first **** cartridges mostly used for big game hunting and what is used for big game hunting can also be used for ******* criminals.
