I love the U.S. so much, as I have lived abroad several times and I just have not found a country that is so open like this one where you can feel free to travel at any time to any of the States and say whatever is in youir mind. But recently a lot of those stuff are being slowly taken away as the Goverment can incarcerate you without proper cause, wiretap your phone conversations, limit or deny your freedom of speech with just one nasty little word..."terrorism". Is amazing how the rest of the world have had to delat with that nasty little word for decades and now that we have joined the world in a so called "War on ******" we are isolating ourselves and limiting individuals rights by using fear tactics. Everyday I ask myself what is going on in this country that I love so much but yet if I open my mouth and say something is fuck up the way Bush and his croonies and that weak ass Congress are doing stuff I will be labeled as a traitor or better yet a "terrorist". Or maybe there's nothing wrong and I am just exagerating civil liberties must be sacrificed in order to win the "War On Terrorism"

the way i see it, and this is happening in the UK too, is that the "War on ******" has become an extremely convenient successor to the "Cold War"
- they have both featured an enemy ideologically opposed to our shared "western values" and (certain of) the enemy leaders are seeking to overthrow the west and impose their "revolutionary ideology"
- also both "wars" are anticipated to last for generations and may feature hidden "agents" lying ******** in our countries for years waiting to ******

I never quite understood why the US invaded Iraq. I do know some countries are having it worse, but that is there way of evolving, they might have to undergoe some civil wars, civil rights, social revolution, etc. But we had people fight for these rights that some of us grew with them and some of us are letting them be taken away from us without a fight. It is an event that will not and should not ever be forgotten. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Just because it is worse elsewhere doesn't mean that we should say "That's OK. Forget about it. At least its not as bad as what *** country or *** are facing."

Also many countries that are living in poverty as you put it are doing so because their own government screws them. Not because of the U.S. Lets be clear on that. Our government screws us too. No person in the U.S. should be hungry or poor, yet they are.

This country has so many diverse opinions that I doubt there will be concensus into dominating the world base on superior race and as long as we disagree on some things we will not be like the nazies. This is more like neocons and their globalization process as is happining around the world. I don't recall from history that the nazies tried to win the hearts and minds of the countries that they invaded or that they had so many rules of engagement like the U.S. and its allies. No matter how much I dislike Bush or I call him stupid I still will not compare him to Hitler thats just falling into the vicious name calling cycle such as people who don't agree "terrorist"
