It's really easy at the DMV now as long as you have an appointment. I need that Real ID to fly and glad I got it. I was in and out of the Santa Monica location DMV in 20 minutes. Record time. I dealt with 5 desk employees and one female security guard and everybody was nice and friendly. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. I'll give the people at the California Department of Motor Vehicles a big "Atta boy!" In about 2 weeks I will get my permanent Real ID with picture in the mail.
Go get your Real ID if you need it. Your DMV has probably improved issuing Real IDs too.
